Michael and Lynn Monroe, started FungusAmongUs Inc. in a small corner of their garage in Seattle, Washington in 1993. First they purchased mushrooms from local farms and remarketed them to local merchants. Next, they bought their own mushroom farm eventually becoming the largest mushroom farm in state. Finally, they developed a line of dried mushroom products including mushroom soup mixes that they began marketing to specialty retailers throughout the country.
