Additions:
8 quarts water
2 Tbsp. salt
2 ham hocks or 1 large piece of ham
1 large onion diced
16 oz can tomatoes
1 tsp. chili powder
juice of 1 lemon
Directions:

Wash beans. Cover with water and add salt and let beans soak overnight.

Drain, add water and ham. Bring to a boil

Add onion, tomatoes, chili powder and lemon juice and pepper to taste.

Simmer 3 hours and remove ham hock before serving.
Ingredients:
Green split peas, red kidney beans, lima beans, blackeye beans, lentils, great northern beans, pinto beans, yellow split peas, black turtle beans, pearled barley.
