There's nothing more satisfying than a steaming bowl of Lysander's Bean Soup! Each spoonful surrounds your palate with rich, robust flavor that warms your body and soul.

Quantity:  

 

5 cups water

1/2 cup sugar or honey
1/2 cup catsup
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 medium chopped onion
 

Directions:

• Pick through and wash beans.
• Drain and add 5 cups water.  Boil 1 minute, turn off heat, let stand 1 hour.
• Boil gently 1 hour or until beans are soft. Stir occasionally and add water as desired.
• When beans are done, drain excess water and save 3/4 cup.
• Heat bean water and add ingredients and season (to taste).
• Stir in beans.  Bake uncovered 40 minutes or until done and desired thickness is obtained.

Beans (Great Northern, Pinto, Small Red), Salt, Onion Powder, Celery Salt, Paprika, Garlic Powder, Mustard Flour, Natural Hicklry Flavor, Corn Oil, Black Pepper and Other Spices.
