Maggie and Mary's Chill-Chasin' Chili

Just add water and 1 lb. of browned ground beef (or ground turkey) for the easiest, heartiest, bestest chili ever! Developed as a mild heat chili, you can add more peppers (or reduce the amount of meat you add) if you like your chili hotter!

4 1/2 cups water
1 pound lean ground beef (or ground turkey if you prefer)
 

Cooking Directions:

  • Brown ground beed in skillet. Drain.
  • In large kettle, combine chili mix with 4 1/2 cups hot water. Add packet of red beans blending well with whisk.
  • Add ground beef. Simmer 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • For thinner chili, add water to your liking.

Variations/Additions:

  • Stir in grated cheese.
  • Add a can of diced tomatoes, well drained.
  • Substitute 1 can beer for 12 oz water.
  • Garnish with a dollup of sour cream.

Not as good as my home made, but then again my home made chili takes a day to make. From start to finish this took 30 minutes and was very good.
