Cherchies Barley & Red Lentil Soup

Barley, red lentils, pasta and sundried tomatoes and a unique seasoning packet are the recipe for this flavorful soup! Makes approximately 9 (1 cup) servings.

Additions:
14 cups water
4 tbsp. olive oil
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 large onions, chopped
Cooking Directions:

Beans, lentils and barley are harvested in their natural state and even with the most careful processing, foreign substrances such as small stones may appear. Examine closely prior to preparation.

Rinse barley and lentils in a bowl with cold water until water is clear.

In a large soup pot, bring water, contents of seasoning packet and barley/lentil mix to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 45 minutes.

Saute garlic and onion in olive oil.

After the barley and lentils have cooked 45 minutes, add onions, garlic, pasta, sundried tomatoes, bringing to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
