Cherchies Mushroom Chowder

A delicious chowder loaded with mushrooms. It comes with a vegetable blend, pasta, rice and seasoning packet. So easy and delicious! Makes approximately 7-8 (1 cup) servings.

6 cups water
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 cup sherry
2 cups milk (use half & half or cream for a richer flavor)
 

Cooking Directions:

  • Add water and contents of seasoning packet to pot, bring to a boil, stir in corn and vegetable mixture, lower heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter in sauce pan over low heat, gradually stir in flour whisking continuously until smooth. Add sherry and blend well.
  • As chowder finishes cooking, stir in butter and flour mixture.
  • Add milk, heating thoroughly, but do not boil.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

Enriched long grain white rice, enriched macaroni product, freeze dried US grade #1 mushrooms, dehydrated vegetables (onion, red bell pepper, carrot, celery), salt, sugar, hydrolyzed soy protein, garlic, parsley, spices, oleoresin turmeric, spice extractives (silicon dioxide added to prevent caking).
