Carroll Shelby's world-famous chili kit is a favorite of chili connoisseurs everywhere, with four individual spice packets that let you season to taste two pounds of ground beef or poultry. Carroll Shelby Chili combines a blend of the robust, hearty taste of East Texas with the flavorful, often eye-watering spices Old Mexico.
 
Note: the good folks that make this wonderful chili mix (one of our favorites) have changed the packaging from the paper bags (pictured) to boxes and we are awaiting new photos, so don't worry when you get these, they are the same great chili mix as always!

2 lbs ground beef
1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
2 cups water
 

Directions:

  • Brown ground beef.
  • Add contents of large spice packet, tomato sauce and water to ground beef.
  • Add from salt packet and cayenne packet to taste.
  • Simmer 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • For thicker chili, mix masa packet with 1/3 cup water and stir in simmering additional 5 minutes.
Try your own thing - this is a great base for your own creation - try adding in onions, peppers, beans, etc.

Cayenne pepper, corn masa flour, cumin, garlic, ground chili peppers, onion, oregano, paprika, salt.

Very helpful to have the salt packaged in separate bag. However the amount of salt ,12grams, divided by the servings ,6, far exceeds the amount stated per serving on the box. 2000 mg to 1320 mg. Very misleading for those on low salt diets.
