Just a couple stalks of celery, some carrots, a can of tomatoes and water combine with our mix to make a large hearty pot of soup with 10-12 servings. Simmer 2 hours.

1 lb cubed beef - browned
8 cups water
1 can (14oz) chopped tomatoes
3 ribs celery, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
 

Cooking Directions:

  • Brown cubed beef on all sides.
  • Add water, tomatoes and mix.
  • Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
  • Add celery and carrots, cover and simmer an additional hour or until tender.

Serving Suggestions:

  • For a vegetarian version, omit beef and discard bay leaf prior to cooking.

Barley, split peas, vegetarian stock, ground peppers, oregano, sun-dried tomatoes, onions and bayleaf.
