This is a relatively good basic hot and sour soup. There are better hot and sour mixes from Soups Online such as the Kikkoman Hot and Sour Soup. But Bear Creek Hot and Sour Soup is a good flavor base. But it needs 'stuff'. A little vinegar and hot sauce enhances the flavors significantly. I would add some tofu, wood ear mushrooms, shitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots and maybe some tamarind paste; just a eentsy beentsy amount of each of these but it really helps the flavor and the texture. Would I purchase this soup again? Maybe so, maybe not. But it would not be my first choice at Soups Online. There are better.

I love this soup mix and have used it for years adding an assortment of items such was water chestnuts, bamboo shoots and pork. I was crushed when our Publix supermarkets stopped carrying it and looked all over. Thanks SoupsOnLine for the fantastic service you provided. I am now truly a happy camper:)

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this soup! I think it is better than any found in restaurants. I add eggs and sometimes shitake mushrooms if I have them. I now have to order online as no one carries it, but it is worth it.

One of the best dry mixes I've tried. Makes a good base; add bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and tofu for a very good soup.

The best Hot and Sour Soup that I have found outside a Chinese Restaurant, better than my own and a lot less trouble.

This is hands down my favorite soup. It's a shame I can no longer find it in stores but I'm glad I can still get it online.
