Better Than Bouillon ham base is made from real ham and juices giving it a richer, more robust flavor than ordinary bouillons. No MSG, no fat and lower sodium -1/3 less salt than ordinary bouillons.
 
Each jar contains 38 one cup servings or enough for 9 1/2 quarts of broth.

Dissolve 1 teaspoon ham base in 8oz boiling water. For each quart of stock needed, use 1 1/2 tablespoons ham base.
 

Ingredients:

Ham (ham, water, dextrose, salt, corn syrup solids, sodium phosphate, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrate), salt, hydrolyzed soy protein, sugar, dried onion and garlic, corn oil, natural smoke flavor, soy flour, spice extractive.

I use this to enhance my pot of white beans. Adding grated carrots, diced onions, diced ham and this Ham Base makes it so much richer. I would not cook beans without it.

I haven't tried this yet, but have tasted it at one of our church dinners. It really makes a wonderful addition to green beans and since there is only my mom and me, I can't buy a whole ham to get the shank and can't find them in stores anymore, I needed to find this ham base. Without it, my dads bean soup doesn't have the right flavor. I would also like to comment on the quick service.Soup bases were well packaged and arrived very quickly. This company is excellent.

My SO loves southern style green beans. I use this base along with a ham bone to make the pot likker. Using the base easily cuts down' on the need for other seasoning, even salt. He raves about the green beans every time I make them, which is pretty frequently now. Yummm!

This product is fabulous! Have used it for years in NM. Moved to AZ and it is no where to be found!Spoke to the manufacturer and they get alot of calls looking for their "Ham Base". It's unfortunate that the distributors aren't catching on.

I just found this product last week! I've long since used the beef and chicken versions. Was making a bean soup from the leftover bone and pickin's from a picnic ham. Nice soup but not the right flavor. Found at local Safeway store, added a savory, smokey, perfect flavor to my dinner. WOW! Opens lots of possibilities fo soups with nice veggies, beans, a smaller amount of ham or pork, and the lovely BTB flavoring.
