Bursting with orzo pasta, garden vegetables and Desert Gardens signature Southwestern spices, this unique gourmet style soup is simple in preparation, just add water and simmer - delicious on its own or we suggest adding 4 oz of cheese and your choice of browned ground beef or cooked chicken for an outstanding dish!

4oz Velveeta Cheese (optional)
5 oz can of chicken or 8 oz browned ground beef (optional)
 

Cooking Directions:

  • Bring 6 cups (48 oz) of water to a boil.
  • Add pasta and seasoning packet.
  • Simmer 12 - 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.
  • Optional - add 4 oz of Velveeta Cheese and a 5 oz can of chicken or 8 oz browned ground beef to boiling water.

Orzo Pasta (Semolina Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Southwest Seasoning (Salt, Maltodextrin, Garlic, Onion, Spices, Chicken Flavor (Contains Whole Egg Solids), Paprika, Yeast Extract, Cooked Powder Chicken, and no more than 2% Tricalcium Phosphate to prevent caking), and Mixed Vegetables (Carrot, Onion, Tomato, Celery, Cabbage, Spinach, Bell Pepper, Parsley).

This is my absolute favorite soup. I add cooked hamburger, a can of diced tomatoes and a little extra spice and enjoy. I have added corn, chilies, beans and I always go back to the above recipe, although it is always good. Try a box and see how it soon will become a favorite!

Another of our favorite soups, this one is less spicy but a nice complex flavor. Be sure to add shredded chicken or browned spicy sausage for even more flavor. Lends it self to adding leftover items like beans, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, etc.
