This is the only pea soup I eat. I can no longer find it in the stores, I left to try and make my own. The kids are asking for it.

Oh, No -- our holiday entertaiining won't be the same. I used my last package and was sooooo surprised I couldn't find more at World Market. Love Bean Cuisine, especially the Thick as Fog Pea Soup. Hope somone who was connnected with the company will start marketing it again.

Additions:

 
8 cups water
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cups onions, chopped
2 cups carrots, chopped
2 cups celery, chopped
3 tsp garlic, minced
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 ham hock or meaty ham bone (optional)
Croutons
Chopped Parsley
 

Cooking Directions:

  • In a large stock pot, saute vegetables & garlic in olive oil.
  • Add water, ham hoch or ham bone, beans and spice packet contents.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until beans are tender, stir frequently.
  • Before serving, remove ham bone and then puree soup mixture in a blender or food processer for 5-8 seconds.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish with croutons and chopped parsley.

Split Peas, Yellow Split Beans, Spices, Carrots, Celery and Turmeric.
